Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a handsome, and well preserved body; but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming...."WOW!... What a ride!"

That outfit in Houston comes up with some neat old guns for sale. I bought an old Smith revolver from them several years ago. They are knowledgeable folks.

Isn't that the gun John Wayne used in "The Comancheros"?  ;D
Ride to the sound of the guns, but watch out for bushwhackers! Godspeed to all in harm's way in the defense of Freedom! God Bless America!

Awesome!  I'd shoot it.  At least once ... IF I could find a round, that is.

I just happen to be watching "The Comancheros" on the Western Channel and the Duke is using a non-period correct Winchester and a SAA Colt revolver.

It is a nice looking gun.  They have it on display with the other collector types off to the right in the middle if you go in the store.   They got this one a while ago and are pushing it again.  Maybe tax time and they have a few folks that need a good investment.

Too rich for my blood.  I will stay with my Uberti.

But it is fun to look!

Back in the 50s & 60s (and all other times) Hollywood and ESPECIALLY Duke was famous for shooting "fantasy" guns during movies set in earlier times than the guns.  Lots of '92 Winchesters and SAA Colts!

(At least the internals of a SAA are similar (nearly identical, 'cept possibly metallurgy) to the various C&B Colts used during the [un]Civil War!)

I'm NOT tryin' to besmirch the reputation of the GREAT John Wayne, just statin' a fact.  He made movies for entertainment, not necessarily for the historical accuracy!
