I have a piar of leggings from Coon Creek and while OK for CAS, they aren't up to my standard for living history.
I checked with Eureka Arsenal and while the webpage doesn't show it, I got an e-mail from the guy there and he said a lot of the stuff there is out of stock and he might not ever be getting more.
Does anyone have a source of repros that are accurate that are available? I'd like to know about the Quartermaster Shop but they often have to make things by order and I have no idea how authentic they are  (not to mention they're out of stock anyway).
Does anyone have any suggestions here?

Major 2

Back during the Centennial 1898-1998, there were quite a few CW-types here in Florida ( a natural )
that geared up.
Several events including a Kettle Hill Reenactment , and some LH training camps were held around Tampa.
At the time, we (my Partner and I ) were propping for TNT's Rough Riders as well.

Seems to me ,Great War Militaria in Chambersburg, PA was a source.
Also, There is the off chance, some of the reenactors may still have some gear, I'll ask around.

You could get a good usable, 98 Mauser ( Maybe Chilean or Argentine) for $98  :D and select for $125. before the Centennial .
I think we bought roughly 2 Doz. for the Film, at $79 each in reasonable condition.
I know, both Mausers & Kregs were being snapped up in 1997-99, then around 2001 ,they cropped up for sale.
Many of the reenactors traded or sold theirs later on, when the events dried up.

Just as an aside, I found a Antique Store In Gettysburg, while kicking around inside, I found a good size cardboard box
with Tan canvas US stenciled CW style canteens Circa 1889.
There were some with missing spouts, none had slings, though one or two had leather straps with a snap clip for Mounted service.
I bought all 14 of them @ $2 each...We still have them in the prop trailer.

when planets align...do the deal !

I have probably a dozen mint condition WW2 sets as my primary hobby is WW2 re-eacting, but that's not close enough for me, it's a totally different pattern, construction and material.
