Steel Frame Remington "Buffalo"
« on: February 03, 2010, 07:29:08 PM »
I am in the market for a steel frame Remington Buffalo, 12" barrel.  I have uncovered four different production Buffalos.  All seem to have target sights.  Anyone ever see one without target sights?

1. Brass Frame-Pietta, ASM, many different importer markings
2. Brass Frame Nickel Plated-ASM
3. Stainless Steel-Pietta
4. Steer Frame blued-ASM

RPRCA has the first three.  There are some Special Editions also made.

Mine does not have target sights.   Doesn't becuz I took a brass frame Pietta that I had and put the 12 in. barrel on it.  Got the barrel from VTI for  $ 115.   Re-contoured the front sight that was WAY BIG.

Could have done the same thing on a steel frame pistol, . . .but it is for use in reenectments with the shoulder stock and I figured it'd look even "classier" with the brass frame and the brass on the shoulder stock.
Beware the man with one gun, he probably knows how to use it.
