Richard Venola brought me in an Ostrich hide in jet black that he shot and had tanned in Namibia, Africa. He's wanting to know how much it's worth. I've checked a few places online, and they ballpark somewhere around 450-490 from what I have seen ... How about you guys? Any of you have experience with exotics? This isn't a farm-raised US ostrich, and the tannage appears nice. It wasn't dusted to raise the welts prior to kill, so you have normal-sized welts. I'd love this thing for a new seat on my saddle. LOL.
