 Marzipan stollen bread.Made up here in the hills Three Rivers ,Ca. at Reimers Candy.They make it once a year and man it tastes bueatiflull,warmed with butter and slathered with honey or jam...Godbless Riemers Candy shop,been there as long as i can remember.

Yep, had plenty of that in my time!!
Discovered it first when I was occupying Germany in the early 70's, then again when they opened branches of Aldi and Lidl in town.
Both of these are European based shop chains that import into Blighty.

I had a business associate for 11 years who was born in Prussia, moved to Sweden before WWII, and ended up here in '57.  She made marzipan stollen and gave it out along with a small bottle of Liebfraumilch as Christmas gift every year to folks she liked.  She told me there were over thirty on her list(I was one) last time I asked.

I think she spent a lot of late nights every year in early December.

I ate a big ole piece the other night and my hair was standin on end an hour later BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!

Mama's gonna make Krazy Crunch tonight.Mixed up popcorn with slivered almonds,cashews and butter and rolled out like a big pizza.Made every year,her mom made it till she passed then Carol took over.It's delicous warm or cold and ooey gooey too.
