The new issue of "The Shootist" arrived in yesterday's mail.

It outlines the transition between the Editors - and if you like - as the Lone Gunman pointed out - you can still address letters to 'Dear George"...

Thanks to George Glenn for an awful lot of hard work - and Good Luck to George Warnick.

Haven't received my copy of "The Shootist" yet, but I too would like to thank George Glenn for the untold hours he donated to make the NCOWS magazine as good as it is today. Also would like to wish George Warnick Godspeed in his new position.

Yes we all owe a debt to George Glenn.  He did a fine and often thankless job as editor.

It would be great for George to do an article on the founding of NCOWS.  He and I have often discussed it but I sure would like to see it in print.

I know Lone Gunman will do a fine job to.  I am sure lucky that they are both my friends. ;D

Having the opportunity to work with George Glenn for the Shootist (by selling advertising for it) was a great honor.  Talking with him on the phone and exchanging emails this past year about NCOWS, it's origin and it's future was extremely informative for me personally and I hope he does what Joss asks and publishes his "memoraires" about NCOWS

George Glenn has indeed done a superb job as the Shootist's editor, guiding it from its humble beginnings to a fine publication.

I, too, hope George will continue to grace the pages with a regular column or even occasional articles related to the sport, the organization and his obvious wealth of knowledge.

Many thanks, GG.

And best wishes to LG as he takes the reins. Anything I can do to assist (uh.. er.. except for that piece ;)), please let me know.

It makes for a certain continuity to still be able to exclaim when you open the mailbox:

"It's The Shootist by george!" ::)

You know in yore heart (that's that thing right behind your shoulder holster  ;D) that you thought it was a pretty good pun!

Greetings to all others!

I had the pleasure of talking to George Glenn the other day when I was checking on the details regarding submitting my article I wrote about a newbie's 1st trip to the National Convention.  He was very kind answering all my dumba$$ new-guy questions and even e-muled me after I sent it in to say that it was received with no hiccups.  He seemed like a really Classy guy.  I told him that in my 4 years in NCOWS how much I enjoyed the Shootist and that I would, like most or perhaps all members, miss his hand at the reins.  Like others have already said, I hope he continues to do the occasional "special" piece, or something of that nature.

He will be missed.

I hope (and feel) that George Warnick will grab the reins and move on up from here.  Even if he IS a man of (how is it exactly?) notoriously bad temperament! 8)

He's almost as crazy as that fella that works over at The Fort in Lincoln.  Hmmmm! I wonder if they're related. :o
