cylinder cycle on pietta 1858 remington

hi guys
recently bought a krist convertor in 45 for a 1858 army droped in okay but will not come to full battery when i cock the hammer.
what do you guys think i should do. help if you can

Is it a five or a six shot?  If you are cocking the hammer and the cylinder is not fully rotating that means the hand and/or the hand spring aren't working correctly or the hand is to short.

Probably needs a new hand (longer).
Its also possible that the bolt is too wide to enter the cylinder notch.

These are the typical causes.

just wanted to say thanks for the advice at least i have some notion where to start.  it would be really suck to not be able to use these revolver in a shoot especially since we just started cowboy action at our fish and game club.

Hey Tenderfoot. I had the same problem. I have the five shot cylinder, with the "safety" notch. I had to file on the hand and cylinder bolt. Take it easy with the filing, nice and gentle. Check it often in the gun. Mine works like it should now, that is perfectly. Who would want a gun that doesn't? Fogger and Slim, good advise. My hand was too long, causing the rotation/counter-rotation letting the hammer down slowly.
