I am not handy with building stuff like gun carts. Stone and mortar,,sure,,gun carts, no. ,a stone gun cart is not a good idea,,,,,,with that in mind,,,,,,,,,,anyone wanna payin' job ? A gun cart that 'breaks down' to fit in a small car ? A KIA. And still leave me room for gun crates and gear.

If you want the job, email or pm' me. Show me what you have in mind, how much, and when you can do it. I need it by shootin' time in the spring. I must deal with someone that can deliever on what they promise and when they promise. If you can, and wish the job, lets talk.

Thank you.

Marshall,

I have a Jetta and share the problem with limited space.

What I have been thinking on is a box without a top that is the rifle/shotgun part of the cart.

In my perfect world, the box would come off the cart and have handles to carry it.

The inside would have the standard 'U' shaped cutouts to cradle the rifles. And there would be one double wide 'U' for SXS shotguns ...

Then one could load towel wrapped or similarly covered rifles and shotguns into the box and use them to carry the long guns without getting them all banged up and scratched.

Then the bottom half that carries the ammo box an wheels could be stored in the turnk and the long guns placed in the padded back seat.

But if I ever get it finished, I will be sure to send you a pic ... and if you like it, written directions .....
My moniker is my great grandfather's name. He served with the 2nd Florida Mounted Regiment in the Civil War. Afterward, he came home, packed his wife into a wagon, and was one of the first NorteAmericanos on the Frio River southwest of San Antonio ..... Kinda where present day Dilley is ...

My first guncart was extremely simple.  I used a suitcase cart (you know, one of those collapsible hand-truck-looking thingys) as the foundation.  Then I attached an old wooden 7-Up  box to the cart with bungie cords.  The box had hand-holds in each end, BTW.  Fitted the inside of the box with masonite dividers and such, then rigged a support about halfway up the shaft to support/secure the rifle and shotgun barrels.  It would carry my rifle and shotgun, all the ammo I needed for eight stages, and a couple of 1-liter water bottles.

It wasn't pretty, but it surely was functional.  It could be taken down in about 45 seconds, and it would fit into any automobile.
