I observed Veterans Day.

Went and visited my Brothers grave and then The Blue Earth/Nicollet county Vietnam Memorial.

Spec 4 Larry Doring 173rd Airborn was killed somewhere in Vietnam, 1967.

I deliver some flowers and drink a few beers then try and remember that far back.

My salute to all who have or are serving!

I served too, in kind of an odd way.

I volunteer each day in the local Soup Kitchen here in Sacramento.

But today, I had the cloisonne pin of my old Medevac unit and an Army Air Corps Flying Star Pin for my Dad (Capt AAF, LtCol Ret'd USAF).

I'm hoping that, somehow, somewhere, he knows.

My moniker is my great grandfather's name. He served with the 2nd Florida Mounted Regiment in the Civil War. Afterward, he came home, packed his wife into a wagon, and was one of the first NorteAmericanos on the Frio River southwest of San Antonio ..... Kinda where present day Dilley is ...

I spent some time vacationing in the orient in 67-68. Lost a few good buddies. One got a snootful of orange and didn't die unil a couple years ago from a life of poor health. Another is lost somewhere in the streets of the US with permanent stress syndrome. My thoughts and prayers to all serving or who have done so.

Evening All,

I took a bit of time today to remember to my pardners that are still here and the ones that have gone on ahead to scout the terrian for us slow pokes.  Spc Edward Lindemann  DSC, my cousin comes to mind and a host of others that unfortunatly are just faces, but they are remembered on this day.  For the ones still in MSG White, (son-in-law). Amber Ballanger (gramd-daughter), and others on duty may the Lord protect them and keep them from harm.

Ned,

Hats off to your brother...god bless him....I am sorry for your loss

My brother was with the 3rd Marine Div.   68/69  and was one of the lucky ones that returned home alive and well....with the exceptions of some night sleeping and flash back problems..but he is good to go now...we owe these combat guys and gals alot...no matter what branch of the service they were in
