Baikal SXS Shotgun Parts

Hi,

My gunsmith has had my 12 ga SXS Baikal Bounty Hunter since July, trying to get parts for the weapon

Has anyone had any success getting parts for Baikals?

If so, would you mind sharing your sources, their addresses and phone numberss?

What parts are you needing?

I dunno what parts he needs .... each month when I see hima at a shoot, he just shakes his head and tells me he is still waiting for parts ....

I thought I was doing good by going with a gunsmith from my club, but I am about to send it to someone like Steve Young ....

But at present I will get this Numric's info to him and hope he can get the parts he needs....

My TOZ 66, TRAKTOR GIRL, broke a couple of years ago.  The part that moves the crossbolt snapped.

The smith tried to find a part for about three months without success.  He ended up making the part.  The job wasn't expensive and Traktor Girl is back in action!

BTW:  In Canada, we get used to being at or near the end of the supply chain.  It's even worse now with the Obaminator. He stopped ALL unlicensed export of any item that "touches a gun" as the nice lady at Midsouth had to tell me.

I have an IZH 43, single trigger that I dearly love....

But I bought it used and had problems with the action closing and I also had problems getting cheap ammo out of the barrels ... they would stick and have to be pulled by hand ... wasting precious time.

So both my gunsmith and I expected the gun to need some honing to the barrels and to the spring housings ....

But, according to my gunsmith, the weapon had been 'slicked' by someone so badly that he could not save many of the parts and had to order new ones. He also states that now the gun sometimes does not fire the left barrel, and sometimes will not fire at all ....

But the man has had the weapon for over four months ... and I am about ready to ask him just to reassemble it and send it to someone with a national reputation for 'slicking' up Baikals .....

There is a good side to all this though ...

I also own a Cap Coyote Norinco 87, and the lack of the Baikal has forced me to learn to use the Model 87...

And last meet, I was able for the first time to hit the pop-up clay after shooting the original target.

So I guess I should learn to take my blessings as the come .... *S*
