GB, this is an outstanding sheath. Would it possible for you to post a picture of the back of the sheath? I'm making plans to build a sheath, and I'm looking for all the ideas I can get. Thanks! JD

Here you go JD,Since this knife is almost 3/16" thick the sheath has a has a full thickness welt all the way around ( 8/9 oz ). the flap and the loop are secured by rivets as you can see. I could have gotten the loop a little tighter where it meets in the back But that is one of those things you learn as you go along and I have a lot to learn.
The 8/9 oz welt was the perfect thickness to keep the knife tight in the sheath and still not be hard to draw it.
Thanks for your interest hope this helps a little

Montana, I use A double needle saddle stitch much like the other pards on here. Somebody and I am not sure who taught me this many many years ago.  Anyway I load up on thread with plenty of beeswax worked in go at it using my Ace Lungger Inspired sticthing pony, working two needles and lockstitching about every thrid stitch. Never had anything come apart so it mightnot be the prettiest but it work very well.

GB, I thought so, I do mine the same way, have done it for many years. Lernt it in the Boy Scouts along with braiding etc.

I took leather work in Jr. High as a trade, kinda glad I did, but that was a 100ert yrs. ago now.

Wow Montana, I wish I had went to school with you. All we had was about a week in shop class in the eighth grade then I did a little leather work on and off ( mostly off) for the next 20 years never taking it to seriously. Then I quit altogether for about the next 25 yrs until I found this bunch and the rest as they say....  I just wish I had the skills now that I didn't take seriuosly then.

GB, I think we would have had a goodtime in shop.
My shop teacher is still around and re-tired Col. MT. National Guard.

Kinda wished I'd of seen him on my last visit in the old home town.
