Hey everyone!  I just joined up, as well as having picked up my very first single action, a USFA birdshead gun in 45.  I'm not so sure if it's the right gun to go action shooting with, but I love it anyway.  Anyways, just wanted to introduce myself, and say hi to everyone.

That's a great looking gun!  Thanks for sharing with us and welcome.

Thanks!  Now I need to pick up a good belt and holster for it...I was thinking something crossdraw...

Any suggestions for factory loads on my little guy?  I think I'd like to get something without a ton of kick at first so my gf can shoot it with me.  She like my 38, but hasn't tried out a 45 revolver before.

Great looking USFA.   Birds head will be my next units. Now to a statement  Thats been made about my USFA . I shoot a Beretta on the left side and a USFA Rodeo2  on the right. Everybody that watches me shoot, thinks that I load my USFA harder than the stampede . Fact is all loads are the same but the rodeo just bucks harder than anything else that I shoot including my 1st gen colt .
All of which are 45colts . My wife dont like my 45s even at cowboy loads. Too much for a the little bit that she is. But she will run any carbine or rifle in 45 I hand her.

Piratesteve,
Welcome to the forum.  Hope we see more of yo arund here!
Just about any of the factory "cowboy" loads should fit your needs.  They don't pack the punch of the full load factory ammo.

Thanks for the info!  I'll keep that in mind.  I was thinking of picking up a Rodeo 2, or perhaps a Cimarron conversion in 38spl.  Maybe she'd like something like that a lot better.
