I'm using Barbour's thread now, which is good stuff. But on some projects I'd like to tone down the whiteness of it, so it doesn't look too new. Is there a way of doing that without changing the color of the leather? Skeet

Skeet, you can dye your thread in a natural dye like walnut dye, just do it before you do any waxing of the thread, but I,m sure you knew that, this will give it that aged and dirty look,

You can dye it in leather dye too - either by the piece or dunk the whole role........

I'd be cautious with walnut due to the high tannic acid content which can cause weakness..I;ve done the leather dye for years and zero problems......dye before waxing of course.........
