Nice job! Appaloosa has become one on my favorite movies. Many thanks for posting this.
You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself

Nice job there Cattleman, that would make a great screen saver. David, you do great work! Ace, I'm jealous, but I could not have gotten that belt around this body ???

Howdy JD,
I don't know what your waist size is, but mine isn't very big! When you live in the middle of No Where, there isn't any specials things that go on here. And because I had watch the movie, and knowing David, he let me put it on :) :) And for that short moment, I felt good, i was wearing a Cowboy Rig that was in a movie that I had seen, and personaly knew the man that made it!! To me that is cool  8)

As you can tell, my life is boring ::) ::)
You all have a good one!

It sounds to me like it was a great experience. Congratulations Ace. That was nice of David to make that opportunity available to you. I wear 42x34 Levis, for what it's worth :o

JD,
I don't think it would of fit, but it might of?? I was over at David's yesterday, I allways look forward to going over to see him! We allways have a nice vist, and just watching him I learn a lot! I was watching him make a period correct saddle yesterday and that was neat to watch in person! My life has changed so much since I got hurt, there are times i just want to give up! But when I feel that way, I think of all my friends that I have made on here, and I mean TRUE FRIENDS!! I look back on my life and I can count on one hand how many true friends I have had before I came on here! So now the simplest of things make me smile! :) I realy wanted to cowboy shoot, and I tried, my back just wouldn't let me! >:(
But when things seem the worst, I come on here where MY TRUE FRIENDS ARE (I do have a few other TRUE friends I have meet on the net) and i can make it threw the day. Slowly but surely I am learning to take everyday as it comes!

Ace, from my own experience, a back injury and the accompanying pain can be one of the most debilitating things in the world, especially if you were pretty active before the problem came around. It can affect your ability to earn a living, make you cranky and unable to sleep, hook you on pain meds, force you to stop activities that you really enjoy, and all because of something you may have had no control over.

Since my truck accident in '85, followed by surgery in 89, I've had numerous incidents that left me unable to get around for a week or so, but only two that took me out for months on end, and the second time happened five months ago while I was in the hospital with the stroke. I'm scheduled to have another MRI soon, to see if there is anything the doctors can do this time. Thankfully my job does not require great physical labor, or I'd be up the creek for sure.

Sometimes you hurt so much you really would rather not be in this body, but those are the times you try to remind yourself of family, friends, and obligations, then buckle down and keep pushing forward.

Hang in there friend, and know the time will come when pain will be no more! JD

JD,
Know one knows what to expect up there, but I pray they have a great Cowboy Shoot :) :)
