Jumping in with both feet.......

Since I have 3 days to do a project, I decided to make my chaps.  So far I have cut out the chap leather and the belts and top leather.  Then I did my carving.  Below are the pics.  After I finish the leather, I will start stiching.  The pattern calls for rivets, but to keep it more 1894 period, I will stich and use straps and buckles to close the back.  Wish me luck....

Thanks for all your support.  I used a Tandy belt buckle for the inspiration, then drew the Longhorn Bull head on tracing paper, then transferred to the leather.  I just dove in because I really did'nt know what tools to use, just experimented.  I was very pleased how it turned out.  I have now glued them to the chap leather.  Time toi start stiching. Going to use a dark brown thred.
