Question To those of you that have used The Meander Stamp?

Howdy Pards,
I have the Standard Meander Stamp and then one of the 3 peice set's. What I havn't master yet is how to go around in a curve? I would be so great full for any and all advice!

How tight a curve are we talking? A corner type or the curve of a holster?

A rounded corner, or like a 3" belt that the ends are rounded?

If those stamps were sold steel, I would heat it cherry red and shape a curve, but a cast peice I don't believe will bend? If I have to, I can make one that is curved instead of strait? I have seen some pic's in Packing Iron, and that led me to believe that the Meander Pattern was a Period correct design? I guess since I use a double stitch groove, I could just buy another stamp and cit off the bar on each side? I am open for any help!!

If you do the inside line first you should be able to run the outside line with no problem.

If you look at the pix you will see the inside line keeps the same spacing but the outside is just a little wider.

But I see what you mean! Takes a lot of planing to get things to work out the way you want! But know, I understand!! Thanks so much WC.

I havn't bought the steaks yet, didn't know if you were a T Bone Man or a Rib Eye Man?

WC gave you the best advice. I haven't figured out a way to make curves come out better. I don't worry about the straight base. You will never see it isn't curved.

I realy think that the Meander Design is Period Look, and i have 2 differnt style's and want to use it on something, but I want to do a good job.

Ace, I'm convinced that Meander Stamps come straight out of hell! Any time I see one used correctly, like WC for instance, I know it's taken a lot of time, experience and work. I'm still having a great challenge getting them to look decent going down a straight line, never mind the curves! I know I need to spend more time practicing stamping. Good luck! JD
