Howdy Freedom,

Beautiful rig! That is a real nifty design and a great use of spots. Very clean looking! I like the picture you took for this. Many thanks for sharing this with us
You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself

Freedom, about the only description that comes to mind is WOW.  Being a BIG TIME '58 Remmie fan I especially appreciate this and I must admit that you have nailed my taste in holster design also.  The spare cylinder slide is really neat and perfect for those of us who load up plenty of cylinders the night before a match.  Would you mind letting me know if the grips are stock or aftermarket?   I have been wanting some thin checkered grips for my '58s forever.

Freedom, that is one sharp rig. Great pictures too. Thanks for sharing with us, JD

Thank you all for the kind words of encouragement!

The checkered grips are stock. This is one of the Pietta's that cabela's sells now. I got lucky and found it on sale back in June for $219...of course they listed it for sale with no guns in stock :-\. It is normally $289. I just recieved it a couple days ago. This gun is just about as good as you could get as far as finsh/fit goes. The trigger is light, but it does have a lot of creep.  It doesn't hit high/low/left/right...it hits dead on  :D I have been shooting 25-35gr. 3ff and a .457 RB I cast.

My plan was to vinegar it ....can't do it...now I guess I'll have to buy another one..LOL

It took me a lot of wasted leather to design the cylinder pouch :P ::)... I tried to match the Cabela's pouch and tried many different ways to design a dump style pouch or a cartridge box style, and finally came up with the Slide Design... This may be an old way of doing it but I had never seen one like it for cylinders. (You'd of thought I'd never seen one for shotguns either ;D)  I looked at all of the failed attempts on my bench and had to laugh at myself.   The anwser was so simple and it took me so long to design something that had been around for years. ;D

That looks really good, Freedom. I like the spot pattern with the stamping below that. Nice color, too. Very striking.

I was looking at the Bargain Barn on Cabellas Site just last night and they have several Remington styles there.  I am really amazed at how you were able to dress up your rig with just a few basic tools.  Usually I like my personal leather with a somewhat Spartan appearance but your pattern speaks well without being what I consider gaudy.  Your color is beautiful also, if it is tan, it turned out very rich.
