Heck of a nice job on the cover and a heck of a nice job on the rifle. Take it from me, there is no better feeling than hitting the target the first time with a rifle born from your own hands. And to doll it up with such good looking leatherwork will just make it sweeter.
Looks like you got a 2 fer  Ace.

WOW Ace, you have quite a bit of talent pard.  Shux, I chickened out on fitting handgun grips!

JD Alan

They look great Ace, both the rifle and the cover. It that what they call blind stitching? Are you relying on the leather for the buffer, or do you have a pad of some sort underneath it?

Good work Pal, I hope you get a chance to light one off soon. JD

Thanks everybody!! :) :)
I have played with fixing guns for a long time, GB you are right about the feeling you get for the fruits of your labor. Back when I was Drag Racing, lots of guys bought cars or bought the motors ect. Not Me!!! It wasn't any fun if someone else done the work!!
Doc O, for many years I did make all my own stocks, but after blowing my back out I can no long pull a draw knife, so I ordered that stock set 90% inlet and fitted it (and done a CRAPPY JOB >:() Wood working is very rewarding, but nothing like Leather working! On wood, you can fix a bobo but not in leather!!
JD, because of my back I use a special HD foam pad inside. The sticking on the bottom is crap, I didn't have any proper lacing so i used the lacing you would on a holster!
I thank all of you for the kinda words you give me about my leather work, but the real Praise needs to go to you guys that have tought me your secerts!!
I am so Humble to know all of you and call you my Friends!!! :) :)

Howdy Ace,

Beautiful job! You have a real talent for design and layout. Great workmanship! Thanks for sharing this with us
You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself

Ace Lungger

Howdy Johnny, :)
You are one of those that don't show your Talent! You, like me and a lot of others on here, have a lot of Talnet they don't show!!
I believe that everyone has Talent in certain fields, but I also find that a lot of Pards do not apply them selfs :( God give each and everyone of us the ablity to do what ever we set our minds to do!! How good we get, is how hard we try!! I have to admit that it is so nice to have teachers! I am a person that can read a book 6 times and still not be able to do what I read! But if someone shows me, then if I have the desire, i will get better!
That is what I Love about you Guys! We share, we help, not like most forums, where those that know, feel as if they are better than others and will never help anyone (there are a few exceptions).
You Pards are my Whole Life!!! I need you guys a whole lot more than you need me!! If there is anyone on here that needs advice on anything I might know, please pm me, and if I can I will help!!

May your day be Blessed with Happness and great Rewards  :) :)
