Hide Crafters and Tandy sell Whats called Craft Aids, you can get a number of different patterns for belts, wallets, and purses, you just case your leather, then lay the craft aid over your leather and use your modeling spoon to rub the pattern into the leather, I've used them before and they work well, but if your trying to use your own pattern, you might want to try a reverse sketching of your pattern, put some carbon paper over your pattern and with tracing  paper over the carbon paper, sketch your pattern using a modeling spoon or stylus, I did this on an old holster that I wanted the pattern off of, and it also worked well, WC probably knows of a better way, and I'm sure he will chime in.

                                                  Regards

A roll of the clear plastic tracing material from Tandy would be an easy way to trace a repeating pattern from your own art.  Alas, I also am partial to the Craft Aids for belts and leave the art for artists.

I drew a few scrolls til I found the size I wanted. Then I draw the border lines on my tracing film. Trace the scrolls in a repeating pattern.
