GCR, now you done it!!!
I'm looking at the braided belt, thinking, thats nice and trying to work out the method.
Then I notice that the five strips appear to be just cut into the central portion of the belt, BUT sealed in at both ends of the braid.
AND I can't see any joins!!
Did you do this belt, if so,,,how??

Inside braids are done just like a regualr braid but you keep pulling the ends through. This will work with any odd number of strands. Just keep rotating the free end through the strands as you go. It'll all even out at the final pass through. It isn't hard. a couple times for practice and you have it. On a longer run, you'll do that enough times to use up the whole length. After you're done, pull the strands to even them out along the length. Here's the page from Bruce Grant's "Braiding Leather".

I used to have a booth i rented in a collectable store,when gas prices went up and the economy tanked i had to give it up.Just some stuff i had left around the garage and in drawers. Ever once and a while i gotta get shed of somethin.
