I just wiped off the major dirt from the boots and straps so I could pack them in my suitcase for the flight home. Piru is a great place, but it is definitely dusty and windy. I could not be happier with these straps. Thanks Roland!

Looks good, JD. Those straps are a very fine addition to the boots.

Yeah, you better hide the evidence.... ;D

Glad to see the finished product. I was worried the sweep on the outside back would either be too steep and drag with a lower heel, or be not steep enough, and not show off your spurs. I think we got them well enough.

Looks like you need a little more practice in walking in those spurs though.  ;) It'll come.

Glad they worked out Parson! Very happy that you're happy with them.

Is that what those marks are from? Son of a gun. Now I know another reason why those old cowbys walked so bow legged!

I was thinking about getting some fancier ones with bigger rowles, but I think I may wait a bit on that :-\

Bigger rowels on a shorter shank, perhaps. You can get rowels that are prefectly round, and rolled off on the edges. Might help.

A few miles wearin' and walkin in 'em will too.

What I DON'T know about spurs would make a bigger volume book than what I don't know about leather work, and that's already a pretty big book, though I am trying to improve on that.

Some of the local guys use spurs by Lindholm spurs from Oregon. From what I've seen in person and on their website www.Lindholmspurs.com they do nice work, and have a large selection to choose from. After the trip to Piru, any spur purchase is going to have to wait awhile!

Thanks for the info, JD
