I was at a museum in Las Cruces, NM last week and they had a firearms exhibit that was on loan from the estate of a collector named Hannessen or something like that.  He liked Remington revolvers, and had lots of variations of percussion and conversions, including some Remington Ryder doubla actions.  He also had a 7 1/2 barreled 1890 in 44WCF, and an original, 7 1/2", nickle plated 1875 Model in 45 Colt!  I had heard of some of them being made for Reservation Police, and one supposedly having been in the armory of the XIX ranch in Texas, but never saw one.  It was great, and there was no doubt about it.  It was 45 Colt.

I know of three within 50 mi. in.45 Colt. One fella has two & his son one.

I was just in a local shop and they have a period 45 Colt conversion on a New Army. It's a gunsmith job, not armory in any way. Looked well done, but the cylinder walls are paper thin! I'd be afraid to shoot it, and I'm pretty brave in that regard. Neat looking though.
