Pedersoli Sharps sight ???

Can someone tell me what keeps the sight on the standard ladder sight up?

The one I have will not stay in position when the ladder is standing up.

Is there a spring like the trapdoor sight or something else?  I need to fix it

Howdy!

My factory setup had a small straight-slot setscrew to keep it in place. I bought a longer screw, then added two hex nuts to one end (tight against each other & red loctite). I then chucked in my drill and turned the hex shapes into a round, then cold-blued.

This way I had a thumb-nut to adjust/keep the elevator in place. Sight works pretty well for what it is, but I did add a vernier & use it exclusively now.
