newbie needs some info

I just bought a Pietta 1858 and a Kirst Konverter for 45 Colt.  The barrel on the Remington was 8", now it's 5-1/2".  I would like to try my hand at making the ejector for the gun.  I have a milling machine and access to a lathe.  Any sketches, info, attachment method to the cylinder pin would be greatly appreciated.  Maybe this has already been covered in another thread.  I have been looking but haven't run across one yet.  Thanks in advance for any and all help.
