Am going to make a "Sheriff's Model" 1858. The barrel is going to be 3.5".

Am considering converting the grip to a bird's head design.

Does anyone have any pix of an 1858 that has it grip converted to a bird's head design?
To seek, to strive, to find, and not to yield.

Wolfgang

There have been pix posted here a while back of a conversion like that.  I made a "sherriff's model" out of a rather poor condition ASM brass frame that I got as part of a deal last fall.   Pix of it www.drburkholter.com/cf4.html
I didn't care for the looks of the birdshead conversions of the grips that I'd seen.  Makes the bulk of the frame / cylinder look kind of "clunky".  Just out of porportion to the short barrel and the birdshead grip.  I might have saved some pix of the birdshead conversion ( or not ) . . if I find any I'll post.  The old post with that conversion should be available in here somewhere.

Good shootin', . . .

ps.  Do a "Search" here for "Birds Head Grips" . . . a bunch of stuff.  Some of the pix no longer there, but some are.
Beware the man with one gun, he probably knows how to use it.
