Howdy Mike,

I never heard of Ithaca making a Model 92 in .45 Colt, so I looked it up in a book called "The Ithaca Gun Company" by Walter Claude Snyder. They made, or imported some lever action rimfire rifles, but I could not find any reference to a centerfire lever action rifle. I wonder if the rifle you saw had 'Interarms" stamped on it, or some name other than Ithaca? ???

Thanks for the quick come back I'm prett sure it said Ithaca on the barrel,  It looks like the rossi's I've seen on the net.

I think that at one period of time, Interarms, was the importer for Rossi ( as well as F.I.E. and Walther) in the USA. Other pards are welcome to chime in with their opinions, but my opinion is that early Rossi imports were often very poorly made/heat-treated. If you go back to look at this rifle again, try to get some information as to when it was made. Both Taurus and Rossi have made great improvements in product quality in the last few years. I would not tar recently made Rossi's with the same brush as one's made quite some time ago.
