Auction today, and missed a nice saddle

Went to an auction today to pick up a holster I had bought over the phone last week, and they had a nice old saddle there. It was a Harpham, made in Lincoln Nebraska. From what I have read they stopped making them in the 50s.
Anyway, it was a nice, supple, and relatively clean saddle. Had some nice stamping over most of it, and was complete.
It did need new fleece, and the tree was good, and looked like rawhide, or at least had a covering of rawhide.

I was hoping noone would bid on it, but it sold for 325 or so, which I think was cheap, considering the condition.
Unfortunately, I didnt have the moolah to go that high, and the guy that got it, was gonna get it no matter.

That is the problem with auctions sometimes!  Somebody else has the $$ and desire and you don't stand a chance.  Happened to me more than once.  Poverty bites sometimes!   But, I have been that fellow a couple of times too.  Just put my number up and soon they all dropped out!
