Today I took my wife and grandson to a Civil War Museum in Kenosha, Wisconsin. This Museum is just about one year old and occupies approx. 15,000 square feet. In addition to the Museum exhibit there is also a gallery of restored Civil War Photo's and a room with a tribute to all who have served from the Revolutionary War to the Gulf War. We thought it was very well done and worthwhile to see. You walk through the Museum among the exhibits and clothed mannequins. At one point you can sit in a Railroad passenger car and the mannequin sitting next to you will talk to you about their journey.

Please excuse the lousy pictures. They allowed pictures to be taken but you could not use a flash.

We finished the day by having a bite to eat at a Diner in Kenosha. It is supposed to be the oldest diner in the United States (1926). Kenosha is around 40 miles south of Milwaukee.

Johnny, Those pictures looked okay to me, good job.  I think I saw that Diner featured on "Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives" on the Food Channel.

Johnny,
great slide show. Someone did a fantastic job on the mannequins, or were there some flesh and blood folks in uniform there too?

(Now how did I miss you at the Nationals weekend before last?!!?)

Many thanks for the kind words.

TL,
My wife did find that Diner on the Food Channel. The food was excellent. Their Hungarian Mushroom Soup was the best I've ever had.

RCJ,
Everything you see in uniform is a mannequin. My pictures just do not do justice to the quality and great detail associated with this exhibit. When I figure out how to use my camera without the flash, I'm going back and take some better pictures
