Will a 49 pocket model barrel fit on an 1862 pocket Navy frame?

I have been looking at making an "S" frame conversion and I want to know if the 49 pocket model barrel will fit on an 1862 pocket Navy frame.  I know that they are different calibers, I just want to know if the bore will line up properly.

Yes, a '49 brl will slid on a '62 frame.  The rear of the 49 barrel/forcing cone is longer & keeps it too far foreward for the wedge to go in.  The '62 frames were rebated 49s' like the 60s' were rebated 51s'.   I have to ask what are you up to?

I have a pile of 1849 Colt Signature Series 4" barrels in the white, Colt marked.  If you need a couple (or other 49/62 parts) just shoot me a pm.

I was thinking of cutting a couple for trapper barrels, leaving the hole for the rammer assemly, so I could use a long 62 arm for more leverage & then just unscrew the assembly once loaded.

I want an 1862 3.5 inch conversion and I think I can make it from a 1862 pocket Navy and a 49 wells fargo barrel.  The markings on the barrel wouldn't matter as I would have to grind it round, reshape the lug and sleeve it to 38.  The forcing cone being long would not be a problem.  Where sis you get the 49 wells fargo barrels?  They would fit on a Uberti 1862 Navy right?  What would you want for one?
