My Botas had to get a job

Not old west leather, but originally the leather was supposed to be botas!   I had asked about botas a few months ago, and was gifted a full deer hide, the hide was that grey colour that some commercial tanneries do.   I dyed to a the tan colour and laid out a bota pattern.  Then, my briefcase fell apart.   I decided I would track down some leather for the botas later and made the brief case/courier bag out of the deer skin.

That is outstanding! I guess I have another possible project now. Thanks for sharing the picture and idea. JD

Nice work, Mo. Looks good. Yeah, botas can wait for that. ;)

Hey Mo, I was wondering if you ever got around to making the Botas. I guess this is the rest of the story, as they say.

Very nice job on the bag. It looks like it will get the job done.

I agree Mo! Really nice looking bit of work there!

And come to think of it, I got some extra deer-tan cowhide that I know what to do with now! My half-chaps are about worn out, and Botas would be just the ticket!
Just because you CAN ride the hide off a horse, doesn't mean you should.
