Has anyone tried the Lee bullet molds that form the microgroove bullets, then either pan lubed or lubrisized with BP lube? Just wondering if they would hold enough lube?

Not enuf lube for genuine powder but might work with sub/replica bp.

The LEE groove style was designed for their liquid Alox.  Great for fad powder, but as DD says, not great for "gunpowder".

You can make 'em work if you are willing to use a grease cookie under them. My backup rifle in CAS is my old Marlin 1894C in .357. Since I shoot .45 Colt in my main rifle and my three revolvers I don't shoot enough BP in the .357 to make it worthwhile to mess with the real BP bullets, instead I simply load it with loads with a grease cookie and the Lee TL bullets with none of the liquid Alox. The grease cookie works well, it's slow to load and kind of a pain in the kazoo but, with any luck at all the one hundred rounds I loaded will last a long time, seein' as how my main rifle is, so far, bulletproof.

The main reason I have BP .38s and .357s is to surprise the unwary...you should have seen my son in law's face the time I slipped a BP .38 into the two inch S&W Model 60. It was the third one to go off, bang, bang, BOOM!!
