I have a rather interesting ASM 3rd Model Dragoon. It has an oval medallion set into each side of the grips, that has a bust of Sam Colt surrounded by the words "Authentic Colt Blackpowder". I had heard that ASM acquired the remaining stock of 2nd gen Colt parts when the line was discontinued, so these grips may have come from that lot.

Anyway, my problem is, when I use full-house 50-grain (FFFg) loads, the loading lever drops and locks up the cylinder. The lever catch is the pivoting type. The gun has been barely used, condition-wise, so wear isn't apparently a factor.

I needed to take a small file and sharpen and slightly deepen the notch in the underlug on a 2nd Mod Dragoon. The ram end was sharp and the spring was tight, but the notch was slightly rounded and shallow, and it dropped down a lot like yours with FH loads. It works fine now.
