I have a chance to buy another great looking '93 Marlin short rifle. The bluing, stock finish and case harding are all in 95-97% condition. Has an 20in octagon barrel with a perfect bore also. All round a very nice rifle, EXCEPT it is drilled and tapped and to make matters worse the holes are drilled off center.
Does anyone know if there are any 'smiths out there that can fix something like this so that it'll look decent?
I really enjoy the old Marlins, I currently own 5 1893's & '93's, and this one in better condition, except for the holes , than my other short rifle.

I fill holes on lots of different guns. Problems with case hardened is the weld will sometimes have pin holes next to the weld because of the higher carbon content.

I guess that's kinda what I thought might happen. If I get this rifle It doesn't have to be perfect, just not nasty looking.
The dealer that has the rifle is going to let me know how much and then I have first crack at it. It'll come down to dollars I guess, How much he wants for it and what it'll cost to fill the holes. Thanks John

The easiest way to fill the holes is to insert a screw to the appropriate depth using threadlock, cut it off flush, polish and finish to the correct surface color.

Easy to say how to do it, a bit more TLC to do a good job!
