Indeed, it is yet another version of the Nigerian Scam, aka Nigerian advanced fee scam, aka Advance-fee fraud, aka "4-1-9" scam

I used to try to work with various LEO's provided detailed network back-tracking data, but these days the LEO's have insufficient time and better things to do; worse, the internet spoofing resources available to the scammers and trolls are Legion and even script kiddies  have access to high power deep-and-dark tools to obfuscate the source and their identities. In fact the recent  "conficker virus" activity was designed to implant "bots" in a users machine and establish undercover "botnets" to distribute this trash.

best bet is to use your delete key.  And the following free tools have proved useful:
security patches at microsoft (but I personally don't allow it to update anything else)
spybot http://www.safer-networking.org
and
CCleaner a registry cleaner www.ccleaner.com

Hey Two Flints,

       We have at least one or two people a week come into the station who have brought into one of these scams. The best was a guy who purchased $20K worth of hard drives to ship to Nigeria but got a funny feeling came into the station to see if we thought it was legit. I opened up my email and showed him a similar email.  Luckily he was able to call UPS and stop the shipment but was out the $20k for the hard drives. What's the saying? Let the buyer beware...
