Arbor removal?

Arbor removal on my `51 Sheriff Pietta ..........

Ho pards.
Does it jest unscrew anticlockwise or is there something I need to know, as I want to remove mine and I don't want any nasty surprises!!

Most arbors have a staking pin.  Look in the hammer channel on the top side of the arbor.  Do you see the end of a little round pin?  If so, it has to be drilled out before the arbor can be removed.  It removes counterclockwise like a regular right hand threaded screw.

How are 'ya??  By the way, now you have to put it ......... back 

After you install the Arbor, clean up the hole, tap it, and use a set screw of the proper diameter.  Lots easier than trying to press fit (squash) a pin.  Wait a minute, isn't squash a game of some sort over there??
Maybe "smash" a pin

I've started using brass rod like you buy at a hobby store.  Pounds in nicely, fills the hole, and if you ever have to remove it, it drills out easily.
