 :) Howdy to the camp!

Well my UPS lady just dropped off the new Taylor's 56-50 for the CC article.  Boy it is beautiful!

Only problem is - NO AMMO!

BUffalo arms is out of the correct 350 grain .512 molds.  THey have dies and starline brass, but no bullets.

Ken at Ten-x was supposed to send me some loaded rounds for the article, plus I ordered brass and bulets from him.  Still nothing.  Guess he was busy with end of trail.

I did, however, have an original 56-50 round.  IKt loaded slick as snot!  COuld shoot it, though, as it is rimfire.  Besides, I think I paid $25 for it!@ <g>

Note:
The Taylor's, by the way, take .512 bullets instead of thge .520s the originals use.  .515s would work, but they are usually to heavy.  350-400 is tops, and 300s would be good for CAS!

I have brass and dies on order from buffalo arms, and bullets and factory ammo on order from Ten-X.  Patience is a virtue, I guess, but Dang, I want to shoot it.

Not a thing worse than an itch that you can't scratch.  Maybe even worse when you know you CAN, just a question of WHEN. :)

Sure would like to own one of them fancy guns, but the money tree just died. ;D

Tuolumne Lawman

I understand the money tree dying!  I sold all my antique guns, including my pristine original 56-56 with an S&S breech block, ammo, brass, and dies to pay for my daughter's wedding!

Fortunately, Taylors sent me a 56-50 to do an article on,  Lyman now makes 56-50 Taylor's dies for $40, Starline makes 56-50 Taylor's brass for $0.85 each, and a mold can be had for about $80 (when they are in stock).  The 56-50 Taylors runs about $250 to $300 less that the 44 & 45.  Supply and demand, I guess.

They Lyman dies are inroute from Buffalo, and Ken is shipping the Starline brass, precast 350 grain bullets, and even some factory ammo this week.  Maybe next week-end (not this coming one)  I can itch that scratch!

copus

I'm supprised that UPS delivered it to you. I was told by them that they would NOT ship any firearms under any cercumstances.

Wow Copus,

You've gone back over 4 years by responding to Tuolumne Lawman's original thread & post :o :o :o :o

UPS still delivers firearms as far as I know.  Sold a S&W .45 Schofield this Summer and it was shipped by UPS.  No problems. Unless you went to one of those UPS Stores, and they usually send you to UPS "proper" for firearm shipments.
