Pocket Pistol Question?

I just encountered the neatest little pocket pistol at the gun shop near my house.  I think it's .32 caliber and, at least a 5 shot?  I didn't inspect it all that closely. It's $185.00 out the door.  My question here is....in CAS...where would one use such a pistol?  What shooting class?

Sometimes they are used in a main match stage. There are also used in Pocket Pistol side matches.

When you get yourself out to big fancy shoots they often have side matches besides the main match that you can choose to shoot or not but is were you get a chance to shoot that derringer, or your .22, or throw that knife and so on.

There were several companies making this type of gun years ago.  Iver Johnson, N&A, H&R etc.  They can be OK or real bad.  Depends on the timing.  $185 seems high but maybe OK if in great condition.  Look on the gun auction pages to get an idea of price vs condition.  Also -- shoot light loads.

These little lead launchers are brand new in the gun shop by my place.  Haven't yet decided whether I need one, or not.  Right now it's kind of an iffy situation.  If I got one....where the heck could I get a holster for it?  I'll not be carrying that loose in my pocket.  I wanta holster it up first.

Recently picked up a neat little pocket pistol; Merwin and Hulbert in 38 S&W.  My first thought was where the heck do I find a holster for this thing!  Then I remembered; It is a "pocket pistol" and these little suckers where carried in pockets and the garters of soild doves.  Kinda neat, actually!

My pocket pistol is a Uberti replica Colt model 1849 in .31 caliber, for which I'm about to order the R&D cartridge conversion cylinder in caliber .32 S&W short.  I've even found a local supply of this ammo and already purchased a couple of boxes.  Can't wait for the cylider to arrive so I can try out this neat little pea-shooter.

Hey Kid!

I've got two steel frame Pietta Remington Pocket .31 cal. cap-n-ball revolvers.  I use 'em in side matches at SASS State & Regional events.  I love 'em  I shoot 'em all the time.  I use 'em to familiarize my ponies to riding and shooting.  I think they're working famously.

I carry one in a Wes Hardin Concealed Carry Shoulder Holster that Big Ed custom made to fit under my left shoulder.  I draw it with my right hand.  I love it.  I carry the other one in a neat little folded leather holster tacked to my boot up against my inside right calf.  I draw it with my left hand.  I works great, but I don't like to wear it unless I'm goin undercover and up against a bunch of bad guys.  It's dangerous to carry that spur trigger gun capped down there in your boot, you might shoot your foot.
