WC. are those buckles carved in wax, then cast? I know my wife used to make rings that way, I think they called it the "Lost Wax" method. He is quite the artist. I remember my dad at 89, the year he died, and he was not tracking too well the last couple of years. This gentlemen must be a pleasure and an inspiration to be around. Thanks for sharing all the pictures, and I hope you can aquire the Quigley buckle, it would really be something to own. JD

You are correct. Those are the carved wax buckles to make the molds.
Al gets around a little slow but he's still in pretty good shape.
I've spent many many hours in his shop over the last 25 years and I always find something I missed.
