Howdy everyone,

My family is going out West to Yellowstone for the sights.  We want to camp in our camper for our out West trip, part I.  Does anybody have any experience with the campgrounds within the park?  I had to settle for within the park because of other family members.  My main purpose, besides "Old Faithful" of course, is to visit the Buffalo Bill Historical center.

You'll want to book your campsites in the park early each day.  There is good camping throughout the park.  Go to nps.gov/yell and surf around, good info.  Don't miss the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, give yourself at least a full day.  Your traveling companions may need to pull drag you out of the gun museum.  Enjoy your trip! I live north of the park and don't usually go in accept for spring and fall, but summer is spectacular and it never gets overly crowded like Yosemite.

When you say book your campsites each day, what do you mean?

We have a 33' camper and we were looking at 3 places in the park, Canyon, Grant, or Madison.  Are any better than the others?

Thanks,
Doc

Doc,
Not sure about camping sites, but don't miss the Cody Firearms Museum in Cody, Wyoming.
