I purchased a Cimarron Forged Frame Rem Navy and am in the process of lightly antiquing it.

Here's what it looked like out of the box (world's worst photo, I know):

Here's what it looks like now, with the finish stripped and the grips refinished:

Next step is to give the steel some color.

Riot Earp

I like the way you refinished the grips. It should provide a better hold.

I left the grain open to give the wood a bit more "grip."  ;D

Four coats of Watco Danish Oil. Might do another coat next week.

I painted the gun with Perma-Blue paste, which tends to rub off if dust lands on it. :(  But that was the plan all along. That is, let the bluing rub off through normal handling to reveal a nice gun metal gray (I hope).

Will post another pic tomorrow morning, minus the conversion cylinder, which hasn't arrived yet.

Not a good picture, but you can see some of the blue hues.

lookin good...

Here waz my first attempt at antiquing a gun. It waz an EMF Dakota "Californian", which waz a kit gun, no finish, so I wanted to make it look old. The gun in the pix under it is Doc Holidays gun and danged if it don't look almost the same...Gun still is a good shooter.
