Cap and Ball, Conversions, Ot's ?? Appx what is th number of rounds you have shot thur your 'most shot' open top revolver ?

Mine in on the 'little used' side,,with about a 1000 rounds thur my '71-'72 Open Top, and maybe 4 or 6 hundred thur my Cimarron '60 Army c and b.

Shot my Open Top today, and I'm still impressed with the accuracy. Palm size 5 shot groups at 15 yds.

Well ....... Depends.  My 1872 Open Top guns have all the calibers on one frame, so ............ somewhere between 8 - 10,000 rounds.

My R-M Navy conversions, about 5,000.

My 1860 Richards type IIs, 5 rounds each ...... so far.  Bought my Type IIs, after one of my customers bought a pair.  Nice guns after you work on 'em.

Flint

Shoot my opentops as main match pistols 80% of the time, two clubs a month, trade off occasionally to Schofields or Colt SAA.  I also have 38, 44 and 45 barrels and cylinders, but shoot the Opentops most often as 44 Russians.

Fox Creek Kid

I have one I bought in Sept. '99 (first batch in country) serial #07X that has over 10,000 easily. I "retired" it more or less. Still as tight today as day one.

Grouchy Spike

My more heavily used pair has about 3000 competition rounds in each revolver over the year since they've been operational.  Plus practice rounds. Likely 4000 total so far through each.

Compared to FCK, Flint, and Coffinmaker's Open Tops, mine are barely broken in.

Until I sold 'em, about 4,000 rounds each thru my .44 Colt 1860 Richards-Masons.  They wuz just about broke in good.  Their current owner can't say enough good things about 'em either...

I currently have a pair of '51 Navy Richards-Masons which I'm using as a backup pair to my Remington NMA's.  I bought 'em both used, so I can't vouch for how many rounds each has digested.  I have 5.5-inch and 7.5-nch barrels for them, and have used both sets of barrels in matches, depending on my, ah, mood.  Lovely, accurate shooters, those two.  They'll probably outlive me.

I have a bunch that I really have no idea...but a pair of Pietta 1860 Colt C&B I have were my every-day and match irons for 4-5 years ..I'm sure these have at least 3K each. I've replaced the hand and hammer cam on both revolvers.

Don't believe I've replaced any parts on several R-Ms, OT and Uberti 1860s in my collection.

I shoot a pair of Navies converted to 38 spl with R&D kits that have easily had 4-5k rounds through them.

I bought a pair of 1872 OT's that probably have about 1-2k through them.

My Navy conversions needed some new internals recently but are good to go again.

I am happy with both and looking at starting another Navy conversion project rigtht now.

Wild Bill Blackerby

Got a pair of '72 OT's that I've put 7 - 8 thousand rounds of .38 BP thru.

My '51 converted Navies have about 1 -2 thousand but I was using them the past few years in only the larger matches.
This year I plan on giving them a bit more of a work out - gotta show off the Tru-Ivory grips I had put on them over the winter. ;D

I do so love both sets of pistols and they never fail me (although I can't say the opposite is true  ::) ).
