ive got some glass quart canning jars and i was wondering if i can store my coffee dye in those???

Maybe you could, but I couldn't. I'm allergic to glass. When I handle it, it breaks! How about plastic containers? I use Folgers coffee, and always save those plastic cans. There are great for storing brass, nuts & bolts, all kinds of things. I think they would work for dye as well.

you got me bud start talking bout being allergic to glass i stop readin there to think how that was possible then i read on and bout fell out my chair laughing  but ya i thought bout those folgers containers but not sure how they would seal for liquid but its an idea ive got like 3 quarts to store
and nothing other than canning jars LOL

In my experience they seal real well. I can put liquid in them and turn them upside down. Not that you would want to test that with anything other than water!

If you have a cat, use the big kitty litter jugs. They are really handy for about anything. I even save them for targets on long range day. Fill em up with water, and let rip.
They should work real well for dye.

My wife likes Nonni's biscottis from Costco. They come in a great gallon-sized plastic container with a wide mouth. I use those.

The idea of storing coffee dye in a coffee can seems, sorta - right!

;D As long as it has a tight fitting lid, it will work, I prefer the the wide mouthed opening and lid of the kitty litter jugs, and I store all my natural dyes in them, they have a tight enough lid that the Alcohol won't evaporate, they have a nice wide base so they won't tip over easily and they're easy to put away. Target and Walmart sells clear storage boxes with tight lids, real cheap, use these or something like it to do your dyeing, but STORE YOUR DYE IN A TIGHT container,

I use plastic milk jugs and/or plastic storage boxes from Wal-Mart. Remember...I baptize my projects in the dye. ;D

You don't have to worry about knocking them over or dropping them. Just pop the lid off and stick yer project in the dye, pull it back out and pop the lid back on. Job done.
