Finishing the belt loop and preparing it for attachment to the holster body.  I used a black marker to make my lines show up better here for the camera.  While the leather is still flat I edged this piece with the same #2 edger but if you have a burning desire to sand on the edges a bit to smooth your cut lines, now would be the time, I didnt.  If you look reeeal close on the rough side you can see that I edged the two center areas between the black lines.  On the front I edged all the way around, except for the end that would be glued to the holster body.  You can also see that I used a magic marker on the stitch grooves.

This next step is not necessary but does improve the project in several ways, taper the rough side tips with a sander or skiver of some sort for a tapered joint between them.  You want to start at the black line on each end and take it down to a much finer tip before folding and gluing.  I actually only took each end to about half the original thickness but more would actually look better and not weaken the project.  Remember the pencil line on the smooth side, opposite the stitch grooves, this needs to now be roughed for glueing to the main holster body.  If you want any edge slicking, do it now, I did not.

It would attach to the back of a holster much in the same fashion as is common with knife sheath construction.  This follows the Good, Bad and Ugly posts of the last few days which shows a great beginners holster that would also be a competetive fast draw style for SASS type competitions.  I have added another step this morning.
