There's an 1890 at a local store, I think I will buy it.  Always wanted one, and have never seen one retail before.  Good price - can't pass it up.

I don't like the action on this revolver, and I'm well advised they are rough.  To me, its not that its gritty - its just a lack of smoothness as its cocked.  First click is heavy, 2nd click is soft, then heavy again, etc.

What are some good aftermarket spring swaps for the Uberti Remington?

Flint

VTI gunparts has lightened mainsprings, and some people have used Wolff springs made for the Colt.  The rest of the internal parts need to be smoothed up, use the instructions for a Colt SAA.  Particularly, Uberti does not seem to ramp the bolt wing where it rides back up the hammer's cam on reset.

Do as Flint says or take your dremel tool to the mainspring to thin it out a bit. That is what I've done. It seems like the Uberti Remmies come rougher than the Uberti Colts. I aslo use an emory sandpaper to smooth the moving parts out...w/o changing the way they function. Your local gunsmith will probably offer a action job for $75-150.
Smoke em if ya got em.

I got my lightened springs - 8 so far - from EMF.  They're not listed on their website, ya gotta call and ask for 'em.

They're intended for the 75/90 Remingtons, but they'll work just as well in the Uberti NMA's.  They'll also work, though not quite as well, in the Pietta NMA's.

Here's a link to their website.  Though its currently "Under Construction", their phone number and snail-mail address are visible:

I did buy the revolver.  A completely pleasant experience from a small town gun shop.  Gotta love it.
