The subdued gold coloring on the front sight of a Marlin or Winchester; that legal or does it have to be blackened out?

Thanks!
With that all said, the white diamond or triangle on the rear sight does need to be blacked out.  In my gun cart I carry a bottle of black nail polish for just such purposes, or in case a Gothic Gunfighter needs a quick touch up!   ;)

Yep, definately legal. They had ivory beads as well, rifles and shotguns, so a white bead would be as well. Agree on the diamond blacking...............Buck 8) ::) ;)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

I fixed that issue with a Smith Enterprises Ladder Sight.  Looks very nice, have to take it out next weekend.

You don't have to permananently mar the sight with paint or marker, especially when the diamond is period correct and it may very well become SASS-legal.  There was rumor of that this year..
If you take a little screwdriver, you can just flip that piece that has the diamond on it.. and then reverse it if you ever need it.

Adios,

Thanks for the heads up Big Hext!

Them Gothic gunfighters will just have to carry their own black finger nail polish from now on..... ;D
