Refering back to the first posting -- Sorry gentlemen but I did not go into enough detail with my explanation for a good fix to the problem. All was good with the rifle and barrel tightness, until I took the Forearm off the barrel to replace it. After replacing the Forearm back on the barrel is wobbly (the barrel) and does not feel secure in is placement in the receiver. Is there a certain way the barrel must be placed back in the receiver that I did not do correctly?  Must be!! – Sorry for the confusion on my part for not giving the full story :-X

I'm no gunsmith, but I've owned several Marlins and I still have three.  Just removing the forearm should not have made the barrel loose.  Nope, not at all.  Is it possible that the drop which broke the original forearm also cracked the barrel, or -- (ulp!) -- the receiver?

It goes without saying, so naturally I'm gonna say it anyhoo -- do not shoot this rifle until the cause of the loose barrel has been properly identified and fixed.

Good luck, pard!

Barrels are screwed into the receiver with a pretty significant amount of torque.  There is no way in heck it should come loose with hand pressure.  You need to have someone that knows what they are doing look at it.
