Did kirst make a conversion cylinder for the Pietta's with the narrow cylinder bolt notch? and does he still make them. I see many of you have direct contact with him, but I can't seem to find an email for him at his web site.

I know we've determined that the current made cylinders won't work because Pietta now has different notches. I'd like to make my Shooter's model into a conversion, and have noticed the cut down remmie I made for my wife also has the same notches, both made in the late 1980's and early 1990's.

Also, I'm looking to sell my Taylor's New Model .45 conversion 5 1/2" for new gun money $420.00 or a swap for a 7 1/2" Cimarron BP frame .45. I know nothing about selling on the internet. Anyone interested email me. laminky@bbtel.com

If you are going to keep it converted, install a new bolt.  The new and old bolts are both the same width to start with, but the narrow bolt is "fitted" at the head to adjust the chamber alignment.  Now that Pietta has gone to CNC machining, apparently they are able to align the cylinder chambers to the bore without hand fitting the bolt head.

I am fitting spare cap & ball cylinders to two older Piettas and intend to open up the notches of the original cylinders with a Woodruff Key Cutter of the proper width, after determining the notch location with a range rod.

There is a classified on this website, I believe.
