This is a Cimarron that I refinished. Didn't much care for the high-gloss black finish, so I gave it a more well-used look. The backstrap is a 3rd gen Colt London steel version. Grips, too, are Colt. I also have a non-engraved cylinder, which I suppose is more authentic, but I like the engraving! I'll finally be shooting this over the weekend (my first time shooting cap & ball). I was planning on doing a conversion to this one, but I'm going to try it out this way first... maybe I'll like it!

Not sure why I'm posting. Just thought I'd share.  ;D

Anyway, here's a pic:

Glad you did. I like it a lot. The L&R looks nice with that finish. Good work. Thanks for the pic.

Thanks for the comments!

Fingers, that sounds like a swell idea- it would be fantastic to have the correct stamps on it. If you ever build one like that please post pictures!

Major, that's a friction folder I recently made. Thanks for the compliment. The scales are buckeye burl (beautiful wood, when you can find the high-grade stuff). Here are some more pics (hope its OK to post them here)....

Beautiful gun an a beaut of a knife too.

I always figgured my first C&B would turn out ta be a conversion project too, but after working with it, I'm going to leave it be.  They are definately special in the world of guns, each shot means a little more.  Happy shooting with that one Pard

I saw that a day or so ago about a knife forum.  It seems natural for this place an a great idea.  I bet there's a lot of good stuff out there pards wear with their gear that would make our eyes pop.  Tips, hints, the whole nine.  Worth a mention to the Marshall or M'ette.

The 'Knife Forum' should be open tomorrow as a 'child board' under the 'Historical Society Forum'.

I'll try to find the different threads and consolidate them there.

Thanks for all the kindly words, ya'll..! I'm pretty excited about the friction folder- it was my first one (done a bunch of liner locks before though). I mainly do bowies and fighters. I'll post some pics in the new knife section. Thanks again for the nice words!
