Gordie, yer best bet would be to get a piece of 3/4 in I.D. steel tubing and make a hole punch. it wouldn't cost much and you could resharpen it as often as needed. it should work great for punching cardboard.  Gun Butcher

whoops, cowboy you beat me to it.

There is a standard 3/4 inch punch available in most tool & machine shop supply outlets - cheap.  You can also get a complete set of about 10 or 12 for less than $20.

I even tried the cheap hole saw set thar Harbor Freight sells.  Ground the teeth off and sharpened to make 'large hole' clicker dies.  Didn't work well for clicker dies but should withstand use in cardboard.  Wads??

I got a set of gasket punches from Harbor Freight. Cheep Chinese stuff but once sharpened they work well. I use them for punching cardboard wads for shotgun reloading, and they also work really well for punching leather. Really not a bad deal for $19.99.
