Black powder .38 short rimfire

 I have searched the internet all day and cant find anywhere that produces a  Black powder .38 short rimfire....
  I think Dixie gunworks has a kit to make .32 black powder rimfire....but I cant find anything on .38 rimfire...
anyone know anything on this topic?

The market for blackpowder .38 rimfire dryed up decades ago.  A few runs of smokeless ammo for the .41 rimfire and .32 rimfire were made 20 or so years ago, but nothing recently.

Many years ago Dixie sold lathe turned .56-50 Spencer cases that used a .22 short (with powder and bullet pulled first!) as the primer.  They worked OK if you oriented them in the chamber correctly to line up with the firing pin.  I still have a few of these laying around. 

It would be a lot of work, but if you have a lathe, it might be possible to make something comparable for the .38.

You didn't mention what gun you are planning to shoot these in.  But if it is not somethng particularly rare, it might be easier to convert it to centerfire.  Then you could use .38 short colt brass.

 Thank you very Kindly my Dear Sir !!!  Yes those will work !!  I plugged .38 rimfire into dixies search bar and came up with nothing....puter illiterate I guess...
    Those will work very nicely!!!...sure wish  HAD A LATHE AND COULD MAKE MY OWN...

Glad that is what you need.  They are a little pricey, but for as much time and effort it would take to make them on a lathe one at a time, the price is a bargain.  Good luck with them.

I do recommend the Dixie cartridge cases. I've used them in .44 & .41 calibre arms. Selecting the bullet is imortant. Many of these arms were designed to use a heel-based bullet. Best results will be with these type, but others can still give satisfying results.

My Pa has a couple boxes of vintage .38 RF...I've suggested he list on GB or similar.
